Suggestions for a winery/food stopover in Haro
Hi Everyone,
We will be driving from Madrid to San Sebastian on May 16. We want to get a little taste of Rioja and plan to stop off in Haro (seems the easiest). Does anyone have any suggestions on which wineries to visit or places to eat? I've read that some of the wineries offer lunch but didn't see that in Haro. Can we buy food in Madrid and have a picnic at a winery? Muga seems to offer something of a sit down meal but the details on the website are sketchy. If we leave Madrid at around 9AM I believe it should take about 4hrs to Haro. Let me know if anyone has experience with the logistics for this journey and advice. We have dinner in SS at Urepel that night at 10PM so no need to rush to SS since we lose most of the day and will spend 2 days there . Thanks.
