Tips for Dining, Eating and Food Shopping in Houston

Looking for a place to eat for graduation celebration; have 4 restaurants picked out need help

I'm having a graduation dinner with 14 people and a baby, and wanted to see which restaurant I should go to. I haven't been to any of them, but want to make sure that they're not too loud for the baby, but also could hold 14 people just fine. A private room would be preferable, so if you happen to have any insights on the restaurant or recommendations I would really appreciate the input.

It's between Damian's, Sorrento, De Marcos, and Rainbow Lodge. Thanks.

  1. Grappino's (part of the Nino's, Vincent's mix on West Gray) has a pvt room that can accommodate.. Its a rustic wine room seperated from the main area. You can reserve by contacting the catering mgr of I believe, Nino's (its been a while). Great atomosphere, terrific food, u won't break the bank,, I don't think you would be disappointed.

    1. Of the four, I have only been to Rainbow Lodge and really enjoy it. I'm not sure if they have private rooms (I don't think so), but the restaurant is sort of broken up into various areas so you could probably get seated somewhat separately.

      1. I will second Grappinos. I have eaten in their private rooms several times and have never had a problem. You can also call and see if you can reserve the upstairs at Nino's.

I have been to Damians and the food is good, however, I personally think that brother Vincent Mandola's food is better than Damian's.

Rainbow Lodge is beautiful and food is has always been good. I have also always been impressed with De Marcos. Sorrento's has always been hit or miss.
