A good friend is coming into town, and he's really into food. He eats everything. I'm trying to decide among these restaurants. I haven't been to any of them. Which one would you go to?

animal
lazy ox
osteria mozza
playa
rivera
son of a gun

thanks.

If you can get reservations, Osteria Mozza. If not, then Animal.

In my order of where I would take him:

      animal
      lazy ox
      osteria mozza
      son of a gun
      rivera
      playa

It also depends on what you think he would find most enjoyable. Animal virtually has no atmosphere - it is all about the food. Son of a gun is the same two chefs' seafood outpost, which at least is decorated. Lazy Ox is a small, dark pub with an open kitchen. Osteria Mozza & Rivera & Playa all have pretty or cool rooms. I hear the cocktails at Playa are great, the food in general at OM is great, and the show watching the chef cook at Rivera is the table to get.
