Best not-too-expensive pub in Vancouver?

Hey! I've lived in Vancouver for a few years now but whenever I have out of town visitors I struggle deciding where to take them! Wondering if anyone can suggest a not too expensive, somewhat low key pub in metro Vancouver. I'm looking for something kinda like the Wolf and Hound, but... different. Thanks!

  1. Do you have a location preference?

Irish Heather has good food and good beer, pretty low key.
Three Lions also has decent food and I love the room.
Local in Kits again decent food, good beer huge room, HUGE patio
    Public Lounge on Main St
Alibi Room in Gastown GREAT beer selection
Steamworks DT decent food decent beer
Cascade on Main decent food, great cocktails, good beer
What about something like Keefer Bar?

Are you looking for good food? Beer? TVs? Brunch?

    Alibi Room
157 Alexander St, Vancouver, BC V6A1B8, CA

Thanks for your suggestions! I was hoping for downtown somewhere, no where too fancy and somewhere with a younger crowd. As far as the beer and food go, I don't need anything super special, but nothing disappointing either!

Alibi Room for sure. Yaletown Brew Pub as well.

    2. Strong votes for Cascade and Alibi Room (beers especially)

      1. St. Augustine's too - 2nd best beer selection (next to the Alibi room).

Alibi hits all the marks for me - decent food, outstanding beer list (and ever changing), cask ale, comfortable room (quite low key). Need more like that in this town.

Yaletown Brewing - bar side is very relaxed. Great beers, good food.

Rogue Wet Bar - owned by Steamworks, wider beer selection (not just in-house brews). Pretty decent food. Good service.

        1. IMHO The Alibi Room is on the mark.

          As is Steamworks.
