Best place to get bones for stocks near Silver Spring?

Hi can anyone recommend a good place to get bones for stocks: veal, beef, chicken necks, etc, that's near Silver Spring-ish. Full service butcher or grungy supermarket, doesn't matter. Whole foods sometimes has bones in the freezer but as usual they're more expensive than bones should be. Maybe i'm naïve, but i was hoping to find bones for under 50 cents a pound.

thanks! new in town

Try the Silver Spring farmer's market. There are a few meat vendors there, they will probably be able to help you. It's in downtown Silver Spring Saturday mornings until noon.

At one point, Balducci's in McLean couldn't 'give' their veal bones away

I take it that's no longer the case? I'm trying to find veal bones/bits and pieces.
