Where to buy carbon steel fry pans?

Title says it all. Where can I buy a heavy duty carbon steel fry pan? Preferably a physical store so I can check it out before purchasing.

Most any commercial restaurant supply house will have a few to choose from. Surfas does. Is Culver City convenient for you? Where are you?

Anywhere east of WLA will be fine, unless there is some great store in like SM that is not to be missed.

Last time I checked Surfas they had them but were out in the size I needed. Blue steel or black steel would also be good so long as they are heavy duty.

Surfas, or any other store of its type, should be willing to order you any pan that's in their vendors' catalogs.

Also call over to Charlie's Fixtures on Venice and Western. FYI, there's several more kitchen supply places along Washington Blvd such as Alpine Fixtures. They're within a mile of each other in that stretch, and all of them should be dealing in carbon steel pans, since they're a workhorse in many restaurants.

Ended up going to Charlie's, sold out of the thick ones I wanted. Headed over to Alpine which only had aluminum fry pans. Then headed to Surfas and they actually had it in stock.

Thanks for the tips though, I will definitely be going back to Charlie's Fixtures for other stuff, great store.
