Peach Preserves

engarde May 8, 2011 09:40 PM

While on vacation, we went with some friends to Monell's Restaurant in Franklin, TN. I have not been able to forget their amazing peach preserves. They were very sweet and almost honey-like. Anyone have a recipe?

Thanks so much!

The best preserves that I have found in the region have been at Smoky Mountain Farms, Gatlinburg, TN. Not sure of their distribution network, but all have been worth the effort, even if one had to drive from Chattanooga. There were two different peach preserves (one spiced, and the other more straightforward), plus a few dozen others, including a black walnut, a great pumpkin butter, and a pecan preserves, that are not to be missed.

No recipe, but you can order peach preserves from the Loveless Cafe online. They are killer.

Thanks! If I cannot locate a recipe similar, I may go this route. :)

If you're going to buy them, you might as well order them right from Monell's, since that's the kind you like. They do sell the peach preserves by the jar.

But do they ship them? I don't see anything about ordering online on their website.

I don't know why it isn't on their website, but you can call their catering line (615) 726-4938 and ask them to ship preserves to you.
