Are these in season? I have not seen fresh figs anywhere in Philly!

I think we are between seasons; the local ones don't come out until later and the southern hemisphere ones are finished.

They are ripening in two trees on my block right now. Ah, fresh fruit for the picking when the homeowner hates figs!!

Try the produce market in the marketplace area (downstairs) in the Comcast Center. Also, I've had good luck finding them at Iovines in the Reading Terminal Market, though not recently.

There is a farmer who frequents the Fitler Sq market who often has them (Highland Orchards of DE) but I believe figs usually come out mid to late summer.
