Seeking a restaurant in Austin with both a good beer selection and a tasty macaroi and cheese

I know it's an odd request, but I've got family coming to visit and I'm hoping we can find the perfect place for one of our nights out. My brother and sister-in-law love good beers and my nephews are obsessed with macaroni and cheese. Are there any places perfect for both? Thanks for any help!

Cover 3 has a really good mac and cheese. Decent beer selection. Lots of TVs, though.

Lots of TVs is right, and loud! I went one time and never again. If that is your kind of thing then OK, but not for me.

Well, I didn't say it was my thing....just reporting the facts so the OP can make teir own decision. It can be loud, but who knows, it may be paadise to the nephews mentioned above!

Actually this sound perfect. Their whole family are huge sports fans. Thanks for the suggestion!

Please report back so we can see how it went......the calimari is also good there.

Never had anything there that wasn't very good to great. One of the better chicken fried chickens.....mmmmm, green chile gravy..

Cover 3 also has one of the best pastry chefs in town. Save room for dessert!

The mac and cheese was excellent at Cover 3 the one time I had it. Funny, but I went once and the TVs were way too low. I couldn't hear a damn thing, in fact. For obvious reasons, they are much louder when there is a televised sporting event (at least one would hope so). Decent beer and wine selection as I recall.

        2. try Blackstar Co-op

I'll second the Black Star Co-op suggestion. I haven't had their mac 'n' cheese, but it sure smelled good when my friend got it last time I was there!

Blackstar's mac and cheese is pretty excellent (get it on a veggie plate...their other sides are also delish!).

            2. Lambert's has really, really good mac and cheese. Remarkably good.

Beat me to it. I would say insanely good. No idea about their beer though.

              2. Woodland has pretty good mac n' cheese. They also have some nice beers on tap (Live Oaks - I think Big Bark, Pilz and Hefeweizen, plus maybe some other brands?), plus good cocktails.

The food's generally good there. It's nothing that's gonna blow your mind, but it's tasty and a good atmosphere. I recommend the pepper crust burger with some of their good onion rings...

                1. Moonshine. I can't vouch for the beer selection though.

                  1. Uncle Billies, Barton Springs road. Good house-made beers and decent mac and cheese if you don't wait until 11PM to order it.
