Motzai Shabbas restaurant in Teaneck...?

What's the best restaurant for Motzai Shabbas this time of year in the Teaneck area? I'm going to be in central NJ, so I suppose southern NJ isn't out of the question either...

Sammy's is open- not a gourmet experience, but AMAZING mozarella stix and semi-decent pizza (im not a huge fan, but i know of others who are). The Chinese restaurant in Elizabeth is open- I hear they have re-done it, and also the pizza place in Elizabeth is open.
The ambience at Sammys is the best of these choices IMVHO, but that's not really saying much.

I totally agree with you, but perhaps Sunday isnt an option. Therefore, with the very, very limited options I would have to say Sammy's is the best choice for a Sat night out in Teaneck ;)

Is Noah's Ark not open on Saturday nights? I could have sworn I met friends once there MS when we still lived in NYC.

Yes, but it's summertime now. Some restaurant only do MS hours in the Winter.

I suppose the OP could just call the various restaurants and ask. My suggestion would be ETC then.

IIRC, I do not believe any of the meat places open Sat night in the Summer. If I were OP, and it HAD to be Sat night, I would just brave mocha bleu. IMVHO, it isnt that terrible that noone should ever venture there again.

Just got back from NJ...got I hate EWR. Anyhow, you know what? It was pretty good. The atmosphere, I thought, was fantastic. IT was hip, crowded and a great energy on a Saturday night. There were a few misses -- teriyaki portabello appetizer; fried mozarella puffs were a bit large (which was great) but that meant some of the cheese didn't melt (not so great). Otherwise, everything else we had, from sushi to creme brulee was scruptious -- and the service was fantastic, contrary to other reviews. Two notes: the miso was the lowest note, I felt. And the waiter did say he preferred real shrimp over the "kosher kind." Well, to some, that means it's a much more mainstream place -- to others, it's ill-informed. Nevertheless, I would return. It was a welcomed middle-tier milchig place--something you don't find so often. It seemed like it was a hipper version of what Dougie's Dairy (UWS) tried to be way back when.

All that said, if the place is a risky hit or miss -- I lucked out. I'd give it a 4 out of 5...

Kosher Veg....if you are leaving Central NJ Motz. Shab you won't be getting to Teaneck until about 9:30 (earliest!...) ...I'm just not sure what your options are at that hour.

If it were me, I'd find a nice local place to walk around with the husband and get some ice cream.

Also, you could wait until Sunday morning and then go for brunch in the city.

Most fo the places don't open saturday night this time of year. I think Chickies in Englewood is open until 3am, but they are more of a take out place. There is a nice park behind their building though so you could sit outside and enjoy the sandwiches. Their food is very good.
