Does anyone know where I can find lardo in LA?

Lindy and Grundy announced yesterday that they had some. Call ahead though, they tweeted this pic and base on its appearance, it might have gone QUICK!

12-1/2 pounds of Lardo arrived at Surfas today. This good stuff is from Salumeria olli from Virginia.

$15.99/lb for lardo seems like highway robbery.

Not terribly, I've seen it as high as $25. It takes some skill to deal with curing pretty much pure fat. Plus, they make it in house and buying a 1lb+ of Lardo would be kinda since its so parishable and you use it cut super thin...

I don't know where to buy it for home use, but I now know where to order and eat it...Sotto has AMAZING Lardo on homemade, thick toasted bread...the piggiest spread I have had in LA.

Definitely give Surfas a call. I recently heard something about Lardo there. Either they are selling it or out of it, or about to carry it.
David, the cheese guy at Surfas would definitely know the answer. David is awesome.
