Group dinner For 40 in somerset, union, Hudson, morris, or Essex?

Looking to host an evening Group dinner for 40 people. Any good experiences? How about toast in Montclair?

You might also call Ah' Pizz in Montclair...casual, but excellent authentic Neopolitan pizzas and they recently expanded, so now they have pastas and more--and it's a BYO, which will also help keep the price down!

I'm also hearing good things about Sofra, which is a new Turkish restaurant on Valley Rd in Montclair.

Hopefully I'm not too late.. I just went to Salute in Montclair, on Glen Ridge Ave. I must say I was truely impressed, I don't usually do Italian food since most Italian restaurants in the area aren't true Italian. But they did a fabulous job, we were a large group and ordered a lot of food, everything was delicious! There's also Rob's Bistro in Madison, which is a go to restaurant for me since I live in Madison but I don't think they have a private room. I think Uproot may be a little out of the price range from what I can remember from when I went.

Uproot.....The food is great and the atmosphere is stunning. I would reccomend Uproot 100% Delicous food.

Have to say that I haven't heard great things about Toast (at least, not from anyone whose palate I trust)...

Without knowing what kind of $$ you want to spend, if this is a business or celebratory meal, or what kind of food you prefer, here are a few suggestions:

-Blackthorn Pub in Kenilworth
-GrilleStone in Scotch Plains
-Adega Grill in the Ironbound has a GREAT back room and terrific pricing for group dinners

Thanks very much. This is a dinner for the out of town folks coming in for an engagement party. So something celebratory and nice. Not sure of a per head price but probably a restaurant that has $15 to $30 entrees on a regular menu. I appreciate it.
