In need of Pistachios in the RDU area

I've got a recipe that calls for raw unshelled unsalted green pistachios. I've looked in Kroger and Harris Teeter thus far but so far I've found the following:

Pistachio meat (salted), Salt and Pepper unshelled pistachios, and salted unshelled natural pistachois..

Does anyone know where I can find what the recipe calls for? Is there another pistachio that is not green and would it be noted whether it is green or not?

          Thanks didn't think about them. Not really near them but may be able to make a side trip tomorrow.

        2. Give Whole Foods a call--I believe they have raw ones in the bulk section.

              and, when in doubt, try Southern Season.

              Nope on Whole Foods or Southern Season. I didn't get to Trader Joe's but did find the meats at Neomonde. Not sure if they'll work and found what I was looking for (if in doubt) at Weaver St.

                  Getting more than I need at a price that may be more than I want to spend? I try local first, but to be clear I did find what I think will work from Neomonde.

                    I saw raw, unsalted pistachios at the little Indian market on Hwy 55 West in Apex (about a half mile off of US 1 South.) I imagine they're in stock at any Indian market. They're not labeled "raw" though, they'll be marked "green." FYI for next time!

            3. They have green pistachios at Around the World Market on Hwy 54 (near intersection with 55) in Durham. They are on a shelf along the store's back wall. I know this because I needed to find some for a recipe just a couple of weeks ago, and had to go on a similar hunt.

              Incidentally, this is the recipe I was making, and if you have leftover pistachios after you make your dish, I highly recommend you make this sauce. It's even better made with preserved lemons, but regular lemons, as the recipe calls for, work fine too.

                Trying Macarons (I know they won't be Laduree).. not sure if I'll have any leftover.

                    I know nothing of them except they are suppose to have the best macaron's. I guess though that is, like all things, dependent on what you like.

                    I usually serve it with grilled fish (Amberjack is one of favorites), but it would do equally well with poultry. It's not bad just schmeared on baguette.

                3. Neomonde in Raleigh, a Middle Eastern market and bakery owned by the same people as Sitti I believe. I've seen them there - you could give them a call. Or, no visit will be a waste since they have so much else that's wonderful.

                    , right now I'm eating their salted green pistachios in the shell. They're delicious; imo they have the freshest nuts around.

                      Well I saw a big box at the end of their isle with Pistachio's in the shell, but no one was around to tell me if they were salted or not. I got some from neomonde. I should be okay.
