Weekday Lunch in Flushing

My S.O. is going to be at Queens College pretty much every day this summer, and she has several hours (like more than 4) between classes. So, she's looking for suggestions on where to get lunch for herself in Flushing. Spicy is fine (she loves Chao Thai), either sitdown or food-carts is fine... I told her there's not much notable Thai in Flushing, but maybe I'm wrong? She likes Szechuan (and I've taken her to S&T and Xian Foods in the food court), but since she's going to be there every day, I'm hoping to get a variety of suggestions/recommendations for her...

    1. Sentosa would be another good option, I enjoyed their Prawn Mee yesterday also. For Sichuan she should check out Chengdu Heaven in the Golden Mall basement. I would also direct her towards Nan Xiang for tremendous Shanghai cuisine. I went there recently and had the soup dumplings and rice cakes with beef and it was a superlative lunch.

      1. How about Henan Feng Wei, a low-key, inexpensive, hearty food joint and a flavors' wild orchid? Both Mr Wang, the chef and the owner, and his wife are wonderful hosts (although their English is somewhat limited), and he is a seriously talented Mid-Chinese chef.

A little closer to the campus, there is a strip of Chinese food lunch places. The crown jewel is Bei Gang (aka, The Main St Imperial Taiwanese Gourmet), the best Taiwanese place in NYC, and a couple blocks up, there is Canteen 88.

There is also a roast meat/soup/noodle place and a couple of other eateries I never had a chance to try.

        1. A recent favorite of my family is Happy Garden near Main St and LIE. They have good lunch specials and their bubble teas really hits the spot in hot weather. It's also easy to find nearby parking. Most of their dishes are Cantonese.

On the other side of LIE is a good Falafel place, Naomi's. Also easy to find parking nearby.
