Best Champagne Houses to Visit?
Does anybody have any recommendations? Also looking for a lunch spot in or around reims (countryside might be nice)
You will make a better decision on this if you read the book "Champagne" by Don and Petie Kladstrup. The history of this area is fascinating. The Champenoise are true survivors, as is their beverage.
That said, even though the wine made at Pommery may not be the best in the area, the tour of their caves is possibly the best. And they also have an art gallery down there, and live music, as well.
Truly, you should choose Champagne houses whose product you enjoy especially. Unless you don't know many.
