Vancouver - Recommendations Near Marriott PInnacle (West Hastings St)
We will be staying at Marriott Pinnacle (1128 W Hastings St, cross street Thurlow) for a week. My husband will be there at a meeting and will have one hour for lunch, one 1/2 hour for dinner. We will not have a car. I'm hoping to find some good (great) spots nearby, where we can walk to and from hotel to eat. Not too concerned about price, just looking for good food. It could be very simple, just good. Not crazy about sushi. Any thoughts?

Transit opens up many possibilities; here are some of my favourites. http://www.campagnolorestaurant.ca/ http://www.luporestaurant.ca/ http://www.bishopsonline.com/ http://www.maenam.ca/intro.html http://www.pied-a-terre-bistro.ca/ http://cioppinos.wordpress.com/ http://www.thaibasilvancouver.ca/ You can get an idea of how to get to them using this site http://www.translink.ca/en/Schedules-and-Maps/Transit-Maps/System-Maps.aspx Maps can be downloaded and then zoomed to identify which buses you need from your starting point You could also try a site like http://www.urbanspoon.com/c/14/Vancou... which allows you to select reviews by neighbourhood. Your hotel staff will be happy to help with this.
Good luck; hope you find some food that you like.

Cafe Pacifica and 5 Sails are pretty near http://www.panpacific.com/en/Vancouver/Dining/Overview.html Both have good food and great views. If you are willing to walk about 6 blocks or so, Le Crocodile http://lecrocodilerestaurant.com/ has some of the best traditional French food Vancouver has to offer. It would also be easy to take a bus there right up Burrard, just ask your hotel staff for directions.
