Happy Hour on the Strip

  • z

I'll be staying at Aria over Memorial holiday weekend Sun-Tue. What are the best happy hour spots on the strip? So far, I found Seablue ($1 oysters) at MGM and American Fish ($5 lounge menu) at Aria, coincidentally both Michael Mina establishments. Any other places I should check out for drinks and snacks?

  1. Found a few more:
Nobill Tavern at MGM (reverse happy hr, after 10pm)
    Strip Steak at Mandalay Bay
So I guess these Mina restaurants are not coincidence after all.

Here are some others to add:
Caesar's Forum Shoppes: The Palm, M-F 4:30-6:30pm $4.50 bar bites (gets very crowded); Boa Steakhouse: Sun-Thurs 4pm-7pm.
Palazzo shops: Emeril Lagasse's Table 10-2:30pm-5:30pm http://www.emerils.com/restaurant/11/.... (I thought this one was really nice, not too crowded and good appetizers.
)Mandalay Bay- Aureole- 2 for 1apps and drinks 5:30-7pm.

We stayed at the Signature last June and went to Seablue's happy hour twice (or maybe it was 3x?!). The oysters and the prawns were very good and kept us coming back. Perfect food for a hot day. The calamari was good too. They had a special on Sangria as well as beer. Diego's and one of the other restaurants at MGM also had happy hour specials that looked decent.

      2. for a more complete list, check out lvhhtime.com or just put Las Vegas Happy Hours into your search engine.

We did Diego's @ MGM - very good deal but only going for an hour and a half. Order some margaritas, taquitos, guacamole and some chicken mole tacos (exceptionally good!)

          2. Staying at the Trump for 3 days this September and haven't been to Vegas in a couple of years..
Anyone been to Todd English's P.U.B. for happy hour?
Have not been to the new City Center..look forward to seeing what that's all about.
            Thanks!

            1. re: Beach Chick

I went to Todd English's P.U.B. for happy hour last week. We were on our way to Wicked Spoon, so we didn't try any of the food (including $1 happy hour wings), but the drinks are a good price at 1/2 off. The selection is also extensive.

I really enjoyed happy hour at Seablue. The food was great and $3 of Stella is a very good deal.

The happy hour food at Table 10 (Emeril's place in the Palazzo) was good. $5 bottles there.

I didn't think the Diego's happy hour was the best, especially since Seablue is just down the way. The chicken mole tacos were tasty, but at $9 for two tacos, better happy hour deals can be found on the strip. That being said, they did give complimentary tortilla chips and a trio of salsa. And the food was a lot better than Diablo's at the Monte Carlo (what a mistake... I should have known better).

Trevi on the Forum Shops also has half off their drink menu (minus bottles of wine) during happy hour, so you can even have a $5 glass of Prosecco. We again didn't eat the food here, as we were on our way to Bradley Ogden, but the food looked tempting.

We tried to go to American Fish, but they were closed as it was Monday.

                Winner chicken dinner....thanks aasg!
Might have to add Table 10 to the happy hour list too..

            2. I wanted to revive this topic for 2014. We did an awesome happy hour crawl in Vegas last year but most of the places we went (American Fish, PJ Clarkes, the Palm, Diego) are closed.

Does anyone have recommendations? Must be on or very near the Strip. (We might consider the Barrymore though we've already eaten there.) So far I'm considering Sushisamba (repeat from last year - it's a great deal and tasty); Pub 1842 sounds great but is only M-Th and we're doing this on a Friday. Would stop for just a great cocktail, but won't eat anywhere without great food (ie no $1 wings).

I'm also considering Andre, but would love feedback about whether this is worth a whole dinner for the tasting menu rather than a happy hour stop. (Currently dining one night at Bazaar Meats but could do Andre instead.)

              Many thanks!

We always try to hit Comme Ca. Theirs lasts until 8 or so too.

                1. re: edub

I had a superb meal at Andre's, but it is very different from Bazaar Meat - to the point where the two are not comparable at all.

The tasting menu at Andre's is excellent, either way, and the restaurant is better than just a happy hour.
