Need help choosing a place for B-day dinner

I am looking for a place for this Friday night dinner for 23rd b-day party. Somewhere in the $75 pp range. There will be big appetites in the group of six people so probably french high end wouldn't work. The place that came to my mind was Cookshop. Even though the last time I went there I wasn't blown away with the food. Open to all cuisines. Would like to stay below 34 street but for a great place will travel.

Given that it's so last minute and you have a big group, consider places that only take reservations for big groups and those that aren't on OpenTable. Ideas:

Most of the people in the party are more into foodie experiences. May be some good pre-fix deals? I see that Scarpetta is doing a fantastic deal next week but too late for us.
