King's Park Souvlaki Place(King's Park and Pape): who's the new tenant?

This old burger/souvlaki closed down 6 months ago. Recently, there's been tonnes of work done to the restaurant. It was gutted and refurbished on the outside. A nice splashguard wall was built behind what looks like a long kitchen counter.

the design reminds me of Folia Grill's design up the road. Just wondering if anyone knows about the possible tenants. Kind of excited to get something else tasty on Pape!

  1. I kinda hope its an updated Kings Park Souvlaki, except maybe improve a few things. I liked it for what it was, the food was decent and it was good to have that type of restaurant in the area. I used to get their Gyro's and fries, it was reasonably priced and tasted great.

Maybe it will be a Burger and Shake place, something to rival Burger Priests burgers, and Shakes as an added bonus!

I doubt that its the old resto reincarnated. I saw them list the place on MLS listings 6 months ago. I assume that's a sign that they're going under.

it also remained vacant for a few months. if you're actively paying a lease, you likely want to expedite renos asap.

    2. I ended up talking to the new owner. He says he's doing a reno but, more or less, keeping the old menu.
I asked if he's keeping the 2 burger system (pre-fab and home made) and he said "Most definitely!"

Within the last couple days a new sign went up on the front of the building "Kings Bar & Grill"

Looking like they are getting closer.

Drove by last night and it looked like there were real customers sitting at tables on the patio.

        2. Have heard good things about the souvlaki & bifteki at the recently-opened Kings Bar & Grill. Haven't been yet.

Used to eat there all the time in college. Loved it for what it was. Went by the other day. Nice reno, too bad they cut down the vines on the patio though. Had my old order of two pork stcks and fries. The fries weren't the nice, thick Amsterdam style ones they used to have, but the sticks were great. They're using this strong, well emulsified lemon sauce on them. Very delicious!

Happy to hear the sticks were great. Sounds like they served you an avgolemono sauce (egg lemon sauce) with the sticks.
