Santa Rosa-- best place to buy lamb or goat?

wearybashful May 4, 2011 12:07 PM

I'm especially looking for less expensive cuts for stews and braising, necks, shoulders.. shanks are good but haven't been inexpensive in a long time. At any rate, I'm more interested in places to shop than in getting that specific about the cut.
Thanks.

Thanks, Junie. Do you think Bud's is worth an extra drive when Willowside is closer? I should have asked for recipes while I was at it.

I love both but for different reasons. Willowside for their sausages and cured meats in addition to great quality fresh meats. Bud's for their incredible variety: boar, bison, various birds. Just had some fabulous duck breast from Bud's last night, with black currant sauce. I'm not sure I am steering you to the least expensive butchers, but definitely quality.

I like Bud's for the unbeatable prices on top-quality local meat. Whenever I'm going to be passing by I bring a cooler and load up.

Thanks, Robert. I've never stopped at Buds, only driven by... I'll definitely remedy that.
