Anyone have any good personal recommendations for specials around town that are around.

The few that I have been abusing are as follows, but I know there has to be more!

Gyu-Kaku's 50% off meats happy hour
East 55 - $12 shabu shabu on weekends
Indian lunch buffets.

I'm not looking for amazing food, but something that will satisfy the stomach with good value.

Thanks!

Yeah I regularly go to Chinatown, meals come out to <$20 (for 2) which is awesome.

I'm looking more along the lines of somewhat nicer restaurants that may have weekly/daily specials and such, kind of like the ones above.

Arte Cafe on West 73rd Street has a well-priced early bird prix-fixe deal, especially if you avoid the supplements:

    2. Essex Restaurant has an $18 lobster special on Wednesdays, with half-price drinks 'til 9. I was there recently for the 8,000,000th time and can report that it's still a fine meal at a fair price. So there's your fancy cheap midweek date night dinner. Bonus: good bread.
