Bread Pudding Trend?

Maybe I'm just noticing it like one would when you buy a new car, and suddenly see that "everyone" seems to have one, but it seems in the last month or two, I'm noticing Bread Pudding showing up more and more on dessert menus.
Bayview Grille (although they say theirs is seasonal and will be coming off the menu soon)
Mad Jack's (don't know about the "Cowboy" versions of the restaurant)
Famous Dave's (at least at Calhoun Sq).
Of those three, the Famous Dave's version was an utter delight.
What else are you going to do with your leftover bread? The choc bread pudding at Bars in St Paul best of all.
Boy, I certainly hope it's a trend. And a long-lasting one at that! I like to make the Cook's Illustrated version in my home, but I also enjoy seeing it on restaurant menus.
The mystery dessert at Hell's Kitchen one night last week was an apple bread pudding that was amazing!

Let's hope the trend continues!
The simple, not-too-sweet/not-too-tart raspberry bread pudding served at the teensy Cottage Cafe in Amboy made me a believer.
It's served warm with a dollop of real whipped cream and is light as a feather. This unique restaurant ,which uses local produce, is worth a drive from the urban area.
If you go be sure to make reservations as it can be very busy in the summer.
No, I'm not a family member. (But I wish I were!)
Bread pudding has a ridiculous profit margin. It literally costs almost nothing to make, thats why its on so many restaurant menus.
The bread pudding at Citizen Cafe is fabulous - it might be my favorite in town. But I need more research.
Famous Dave's has had bread pudding for a long time.
Hazel's NE has a good one. It's nice to have a dessert option that doesn't beat you over the head with sweet.
