Alexandria Dinner on $50 with drinks

What's the best option for a Tuesday night dinner with a limit of $50 with drinks?

  1. Anywhere in Alexandria or Old Town? You say drinks so I assume about two. And just one person correct?

Perhaps Hank's Oyster Bar entrees are between 18-23 and drinks are about $7-10 depending on what is ordered, mixed drinks might be more. I also am quite certain Fontaine Creperie would fit the bill, or Overwood, but I like Hank's better.

Evening Star Cafe in Del Ray might work too again depending on what you are drinking, and what you order, most things are in the low 20's but a couple are higher.

Brabo Tasting Room might work too, they have higher alcohol prices, but more casual food sandwiches, tarts, etc.

Oh wow - I had assumed this would be for two. Your answers make a lot more sense for one!

    2. Agree. Overwood might work esp. with 1/2 price bottle of wine on Tues.
Evening Star=not for 2 with drinks. Maybe Vermillion in the bar/lounge. A steak frites goes for around $15.
OP...what are your dining expectations? You're really in the share and app and get sandwiches territory. I know there are ethnic options that are cheaper, but if you want a nice, full dinner, you're rubbing up against your $50 mark, and then some.
Spend another ten bucks and open your options.

      1. So, I have no self-control and went to Vermillion and went overbudget by about $15 per person, but it was fantastic. Thanks for the recommendations and I would highly recommend Vermillion for anyone that is in the same situation. Great tasting local food, good variety of beers and wines. Had an excellent charcuterie plate to start, the best I have had at any restaurant.

Yay! Glad you bumped your budget up a bit to enjoy food at that level. It is a bit more $$ in this area, so $25 pp just doesn't go that far, unfortunately ;-(
