meatball cook-off

I went to the first annual Meatball Cook-off at Damien's yesterday afternoon.. The sponsor was My Table mag... Seventeen restaurants were represented inc, Carrabba's, Nino's, Vincent's, Oporto, Arturo Boado, Tre Trattoria (the Weston Memorial City, Patrenella's, Paulie's, Jonathan's, Bistro Alex and more... Lots of different complex meat/cheese combinations inc, Kobe beef, lamb etc... Even Dan Pastorini's own meatballs made an appearence.... Proceeds went to the Houston Food Bank. My personal favorite was Oporto,, Sicilian and Boada.. Can't wait to do a sit down at Oporto,, i've never been but i can vouch for there meatballs which had a MiddleEastern flair!!! Fun event!
