Where to watch the Kentucky Derby near west side of Prospect Park?
My wife and I (horeracing fans) have to attend our granddaughter's birthday party in Prospect Park this coming Saturday. It will probably go past 6PM. We want to sneak off a Park Slope bar and watch the race. Suggestions please.
TIA

Commonwealth has hosted an annual Derby Day event since it opened. Owner Ray Gish is a native Kentuckian. There's always plenty of mint juleps, "harmless gambling" and, apparently, a new TV this year!

Likely ANY bar will gladly put it on for you...after all, it's "The Greatest Two Minutes in Sports!
Close to the Park, try Johnny Mack's on 12th Street or better yet, the bar around the corner from 12th Street Cafe (also 8th Avenue).
Other possibilities would be the place on 8th Street and 7th Avenue or Farrell's on the Windsor Terrace side (16th Street and PPW).
Archarcharch, Pants on Fire, Uncle Mo...in no particular order.
