Kosher in Mauritius

Tamark May 2, 2011 10:33 AM

Does anyone have any information about the availability of kosher food in Mauritius? Alternatively, does anyone know of any restaurants (perhaps in South Africa?) that would ship frozen prepared meals to our hotel in Mauritius?

You may want to take long shelf life meals in your suitcase. Or ship some in by the carton to wherever you're going. Don't let it stop you from seeing the world, there are lots of ways to eat in countries without Jewish communities. There are lots of interesting destinations in the world (not ot mention places where you need to go on business) without kosher facilities.

I feel like a whole new world has opened before my eyes. i am THE TRAVEL WIZARD. I am a travel agent in Johannesburg South Africa with a 99.9% Jewish kosher clientele and am always looking for Kosher advice in far flung places. What a win to come across the site and this kosher board and more so to find that I was found by mamaleh in this vast virtual world. I do indeed run a kosher program in July in Mauritius. But more than that, the info on South African Kosher establishments seems to be scarce and vague at best. I am more than happy to assist with any enquiries regarding Kosher restaurants, delis, supermarkets and other info required within South Africa.
