Whole Foods Fairfield opening Fri June 3

Just posted to their Facebook page: WF in Fairfield will be opening on Friday June 3. From the looks of it, they still have a lot to do before then.

Hopefully, this will solidify their supply lines into CT. I live in Guilford, and the Milford store is just too far and too limited (smallest WF around, I think) for me to visit too often. A store in Branford/Guilford/Madison/Clinton would have a large customer base, but I gather they care a lot about logistics, so the more stores along the CT shore from Fairfield county east, the more promising for us.

All reports I've read are saying Fall '11 which looks more realistic. Although they were actually installing windows yesterday!

CVS signed a 25 year lease already. Not sure if Chipotle did yet (awaiting outdoor seating approval?).

I drive by that location a few times a week and while I can't wait for the opening, I agree that June 3rd seems a bit of a stretch.
I've heard Chipotle Grill is going into that "lot" too along with another pharmacy-type place (CVS or Walgreens).

So yesterday on the way home from work I noticed a new billboard on 95 south stating that Whole Foods in Fairfield is opening on June 3rd. Then today I get a flier/ad in the mail noting a June 3rd opening (and 10% off). I took a peek at the site today (June 1st) and they have made a ton of progress in the last 30 days - - - - looks like a bit more to do over the next 24 hours but it appears June 3rd is really it.

Indeed, the facade and parking lot have come a long way in the past few weeks. The CVS building likewise looks only a few weeks away. The third building in the complex looks less finished, so there will probably be a few more months before the announced tenants of Chase, Petco, Five Guys and Chipotle open for business.

My wife stopped in on Saturday (really early morning) and I on Sunday (late afternoon) just to have a peak and pick up 1 or 2 things. Both times it was packed and hard to navigate - - - I can't imagine trying to get through with a shopping cart. And the parking lot was full with people circling to find a space.

Hopefully it will die down a bit after opening weekend is over - - - because if it doesn't, there won't be anywhere to park to get into Chipotle, 5 Guys, Petco, etc once they open.
