La Patisserie, Winchester

Although I live nearby, I've never been here but today it is featured on one of the deal sites. Have you been and if so, is it worth a try? Thanks.

there are a few items that are o.k. there and evthng looks pretty and they've fooled enough people to have become an institution in this town. i've lived here for 23 yrs and NO is what i say. but i am also a real naysayer of american bakeries in general (i firmly believe boston HAS no great bakery, not one), so you may enjoy them. they do have a large product line.

Thanks all. I'll save the $ (and more importantly, the calories!) for another deal.

I used to really like their butter rolls, which they don't make anymore. I found their stuff hit or miss and can't even remember what I liked anymore. But I'm not in that area often. I think they are ok if you are in the area. They have alot of selection and seating area.

I agree. I live in Winchester and have tried this place quite a few times. It is hit or miss but if you live in town and want something convenient it is certainly a safe bet. However, if you want some of the best bread in the entire area don't miss Mamdou's Artisinal Bakery on Swanton St. It's across from the Swanton St. Diner. He bakes several types of delicous breads each day. I love his baquettes and the pain levain.
