Best Restaurant in Walnut Creek

Looking for good food in WC. Italian, French, American, anything that is well made, good ambience and relaxing.

I live in SF but several family members live in WC so I am there often. My favorite, and those of my friends and family that live there, is Sasa. Food is wonderful. Service is exceptional and can honestly say that I have never had a less than outstanding experience there. Bar/lounge area is comfortable if you can't get a table.

Thanks everyone. I went to Prima and it was nice. The salad was fresh and delicious, the setting was great, and the gnocchi were fresh and tasty. My only knock was on the waitstaff. Our waitress was trying to be more sophisticated and directive than the event called for. We brought our own wine and she insisted on us sampling it first. I informed her that we had brought it ourselves, and therefore, that was unnecessary and she proceeded to argue with us about "10% of wines being corked," etc. She was a pain.

Chopin in great. In downtown WC, we've tried a lot of disappointing places, but Ottavio has been really good, especially pastas and meats.

Underwhelmed by va de vi. Been there a few times and can honestly say I've had better food elsewhere.

The place at the top of my list to try out there is Chopin. Lots of enthusiastic reports here.

If you want something more upscale, Prima.
