Cheap eats in the area?

I am coming in from NY for a little over a week, and am visiting my friend in Phoenix. I was hoping for recommendations for great places to eat for less than $15. All cuisines welcomed. Thanks ahead of time.

I don't know how to describe a combination of Chinese and Mexican food but it's delicious and uniquely Arizona. Yes, it fits your "cheap eats in the area" requirements. You won't be sorry - this one is an original.

In Chandler, Chodang Tofu & BBQ does good Korean food. Portions are large so you can share. Also Elmer's Tacos (decent, cheap and why not when in AZ). Si Senor Restaurant does New Mexican food at reasonable prices, anything with the green chile sauce is good. It can also be fun to drive down Main street in Mesa for some interesting Mexican dives.

Pho Van in Chandler has excellent Vietnamese. Lee's sandwiches across the street has good banh mi (vietnamese sandwiches on french baguettes) at really cheap prices ($3-4 each). also the chinese restaurant a couple of doors to the right of Pho Van does a nice dim sum. last i was there was a couple of months ago and the check for 2 was under $25 including tax.

I haven't been to Chandler in months, and I have rarely had dinner, there. I've enjoyed lunch at Spices and Cyclo, and they should be in your price range. Search the board for Chandler, and be sure to verify that what you find are still in business.
