Amazing ham

  • 5

Just tried this newly imported Ham from Italy at Adonis called Fumagalli. It is absolutely fantastic. I tried their regular ham as well as their truffle ham and both blew me away. They advertise it as being gluten, MSG, Lactose, Trans Fat and antibiotic free. I say it is definitely worth a taste.

  1. do you know if it's nitrate free also?
I know that boulangerie premiere moisson has a antibiotic free ham that they have made just for them. Verry expensive but also verry good and since it's chemicals free I guess you have to pay for quality in this world of ours..

Italian AOP prosciutto crudo never contains nitrites or nitrates.

i used to buy my ham at boulangerie premiere moisson only because pediatrician said nitrates to be avoided for children and they did have nitrate free ham

Hmm! It doesn't specifically say in the leaflet they handed out. They have a website so maybe the answer is in there somewhere: www.fumagallisalumi.it. Maybe you'll want to check it out.

      3. Was shopping in the WI Adonis on Sources today and they had the Fumigali crew out in force promoting the product. I sampled pretty much everything they had on offer, thanks to an eager promoter who kept offering me slices. Gotta say it was pure heaven. I'm one of those folks who rarely caves to a food promoter and buys the product, but this time I did. Yes it's pricey, but it's worth it - particularly if you feel like treating yourself. The cost isn't exorbitant - I earn a modest income and live pay to pay - but with ham like this, it's nice to have enough in the fridge to have a couple of decadent sandwiches and not feel like you're breaking the bank.

BTW - their truffle ham is to die for.
