either fresh of frozen. Any tips?
recently spotted FRESH crawfish at the Lobster Place in the Chelsea Market.
thanks. ended up getting frozen Louisiana tails from Lobster Place. Would've loved to find whole crawfish, but they appear to be a special order item. thanks for the assist.

I saw it at Whole Foods (Columbus Circle) yesterday. Don't know where they come from.

Do yourself a favor and buy American crawfish. Asian (especially Chinese) crawfish are some of the most toxic food products on the market. I know what you are thinking: oil spill. Do not fret. Almost all of them are farmed extremely regulated.
A very good point. You do not want crawfish from Asia.
What is wrong with Chinese crawish? They are smaller, ok, but what's actually dangerous about them?
Well probably not dangerous, but as someone that actually visited a crawfish farm in China, I wouldnt eat them. Unsanitary conditions and use of antibiotics-and god only knows what else.
Lobster Place in Chelsea Market has them frozen. If you have the time, scout Chinatown--many of the seafood markets have them live...

Id bet wild edibles can get them for you, they might even be able to get live ones.
