where to buy crawfish in NY?

Do yourself a favor and buy American crawfish. Asian (especially Chinese) crawfish are some of the most toxic food products on the market. I know what you are thinking: oil spill. Do not fret. Almost all of them are farmed extremely regulated.

What is wrong with Chinese crawish? They are smaller, ok, but what's actually dangerous about them?

Well probably not dangerous, but as someone that actually visited a crawfish farm in China, I wouldnt eat them. Unsanitary conditions and use of antibiotics-and god only knows what else.

Lobster Place in Chelsea Market has them frozen. If you have the time, scout Chinatown--many of the seafood markets have them live...
