Boozy brunch recs, please.

il Trifulau Apr 29, 2011 06:06 PM

Four adults looking for a good "boozy" brunch for this Sunday.

Aside from Jane, what do you like?

Thanks!

Do you mean All You Can Drink? Or drink included with entree? Or just drink specials?

I really like Lani Kai these days. $9 for the same cocktails during brunch that you'd pay $13 for at night.

Here's a great boozy brunch map:

Thank you very much. We're not big fans of the food at Lani Kai, but I'll check your map out.

The brunch food at Lani Kai is very different from the dinner menu (which is hit or miss).

        Not my map, that's WinedandDined.com's!

Essex is a good option. The food isn't mind-blowing, but it's a $20 prix fixe that includes three drink tickets. Also, I think Emporio does an all-you-can-drink brunch. I've not brunched there, but dinners have always been plenty good.

There's a place on the Upper West Side called Calle Ocho that has brunch on Sundays - all you can drink, free sangria bar. It's self-serve, 6 or so varieties set up on some tables. We enjoyed the food there, too - nothing super memorable, but good. Liked it much more than Essex, personally.

Personally i MUCH prefer Calle Ocho to Essex. I actually found Essex's food marginally inedible.

However, Calle Ocho is near impossible to get a reservation nowadays. Another option in Poco in alphabet city
