Best oceanfront restaurant in SoCal - any suggestions?

Hi Fellow Foodies,

Summer is coming up and I'm looking for an awesome beachfront restaurant that serves great food —preferably a place where you can walk from the sand to the restaurant to eat or any place cliff-side (e.g. Geoffrey's Malibu) or close to the ocean would be fantastic.

Some places I've ate where the restaurant is right on the sand is:
1. The Beachcomber Cafe (Newport Coast, CA)
2. Paradise Cove Beach Cafe (Malibu, CA)
3. Las Brisas (Laguna Beach, CA)

Please let me know if you have any more suggestions. I'd love to hear it. Thanks!

We always go to Duke's. The food is always good and the staff is helpful and friendly. The view is spectacular because you are right on the beach.

Nothing better than taking the Catalina Express over to Avalon and snorkeling all day and then having drinks at dinner at Armstrong's, Descano's Cove or El Galleon..food is decent but its more about just being in Catalina.

The Beachcomber and Las Brisas both have amazing views, but the food is nothing to write home about at either place.

The Sunset restaurant on Zuma beach had decent food.

The Lobster. One Pico at Shutters. Catch at Del Mar.

The Hungry Cat - road level, but you can see the ocean across PCH, and a one minute walk gets you thru the tunnel and onto the sand.

Linking to the right Hungry Cat -- either that or there's a tunnel from Sunset and Vine to the ocean ...

I didn't do the link - it's done automatically. Kudos for the correction.

                      Understood.

According to the map there's an oceanfront restaurant in San Gabriel. Neat trick.

Yeah, it's in the hotel Casa Del Mar, which is on the beach in Santa Monica. Same with One Pico, but that's in the Shutters hotel right next door.

Chart House Malibu? Better food than Paradise Cove but, Paradise Cove beats all on beach locales!
