Opus One - Detroit
Lately? No, but I'd support them. What very few problems I've *ever* had at Opus One were quickly corrected, and sometimes, with far better results. I once ordered a Dover Sole there, and when it came, the fish itself was tasteless. *Not their fault*. Sometimes, a fish just doesn't pan out, so to speak, but I don't blame them. There was nothing about the fish that looked, smelled, or seemed off or wrong.
So what then? I ordered an Arctic char dish, and to this day, it's still by far *the best* Arctic char dish I've ever eaten, and probably one of the finest fish dishes I've ever had...top five I'd say. It came out of the kitchen sizzling hot, and it was just unbelievably divine. A+. It honestly redefined a few things for me.
The only other problem I can even *think of* was that one of the hot appetizer cart dishes had a lobster sauce that was just wrong one night. My brother, SIL, and myself all agreed that the sauce was off (not unsafe, mind you...just not the right flavor). They thanked us, called the executive chef, who promptly tasted the sauce, and deemed it wrong, and removed said app from the appetizer cart. I thought that was absolutely regal; everybody gets something wrong now and again, and they were willing to listen, check it out, and admit it.
Everything else about Opus One has been great for me, and I've been especially happy when they put out a BOGO coupon, as they sometimes do around their birthday.
