Driving from Houston to Austin and back this weekend... worthy chow en route?

Hello friends.

Quick trip to Austin this weekend (driving over on Sat, back to Houston on Sun).

Will be stopping in Lockhart on the way back, since we stopped in Luling on a past trip. Any other places worth stopping for? A little bit of a detour is ok (about an hour tops).

TIA!

If passing through the LaGrange area, then stop at Murphy's Steakhouse in Winchester, great steak, at a great price!

The honeybees and kolaches at Weikel in Lagrange, the kolaches (especially sausage) at Hruska's in Ellinger, and Peter's, also in Ellinger, are my standard stops on 71.

Royer's Round Top Cafe has been recommended to me many times but I've yet to have the time to make the detour.
