looking for laid back diner/cafe in Park Slope near 4th Ave
I'm meeting a friend whom I haven't seen in over 20 years, and I'm looking for a diner/casual lunch place/cafe in Park Slope, one where we can sit for hours without being rushed out. I think we'll meet on a weekday, which could make matters better, but I'd like it to be someplace that's not too crowded, where we'll be overheard (I think there will be some anguishing stories to tell). A pub could be good too. Near the 4th Avenue subway lines please.
Any suggestions appreciated!

The owners of Bar Toto and Provini have a nice looking spot at the corner of 9th street and 3rd ave, just a block from the subway (F,G,R).
It never is crowded when I pass by it (probably because it's not on a heavily foot trafficked corner) but it looks lovely and a place I would definitely try.
Oh, found the link for you...

Fourth Avenue is a bit tough. Sheep Station is a pub, but I'm not sure if they're open for weekday lunches. A lot of Fifth Avenue places are open for lunch, including Al Di La, Stone Park Cafe and Kappa Sake House, but they may not have the atmosphere you want. Maybe Alchemy?
