Trader Joe's has some decent ones if you don't want to make your own. I like the Lemon Blueberry ones.

Clementines sells really good scones....don't know if they're English style. They also sell frozen ones that you can bake at home.

The great little English tea room/bakery/restaurant, in Santa Monica on north side of 2nd St at Santa Monica (I think) Can't remember the name - I'm sure they bake them.

You're thinking of Tudor House which is actually on the east side of 2nd Street and Santa Monica Blvd. Yes, very authentic down to the devonshire cream.

I agree these are quite good. I've seen some negative comments on this board about Tudor House, but I've been pleased with the baked goods.
