seems silly to be anxiously awaiting a new chain restaurant in wstchester, but i am. just found out something called yard house is opening in september in ridge hill s.c. (stew leonards-yonkers) but since i am home bound for a bit future to try places look interesting. seriouseats just reviewed their burger and it looked very good, and when i looked for locations on yard house website up pops westchester. but has anyone tried them. there are already quite a few of them around. t/y in advance

Pardon the negativity but I took a ride over to Ridge Hill today ( its an abomination) There are no restaurants open at this time they are scheduled to open Fall 2011. As a matter of fact it looked as if there were only two businesses up and running currently... And ( at the risk of sounding like one of our long lost regular posters) guess what folks, both had pay parking lots/garages up and running too... Are you kidding me?

The malls in Westchester charge for parking too!

Hi Rich - Yes indeed Yard House will be coming to Ridge Hill in mid-September! I work for YH in the marketing department and we will be posting updates on our website and through Facebook (facebook.com/yardhouse). There are also lots of reviews on Yelp about our different locations if you're looking for more info about guest experience.

Thanks - and we look forward to seeing you soon!

Check the "directions" tab on the website I posted above. Near Tuckahoe Road & the Thruway. But, they won't tell you it's in Yonkers! Lol!

A park would be a lot nicer, but parks don't bring in revenue.

would you really go to a park in yonkers?, bad enough used to go to city hall

Website and menu look a bit like Applebee's/Houlihan's ilk. A HUGE number of menu choices, like a diner. Will probably do well, Applebee's/Houlihan's/TGI Friday's usually are packed.

If you go to the Ridge Hill website, (very slick site) it's quite amusing that they have intentionally (seemingly) left out the fact that this is in Yonkers! (Why?) Yonkers is home to some terrific foodie places, e.g., X20! But the website doesn't tell you the town the place is in! Even clicking on "location" doesn't tell you it's in Yonkers! Lol.

i noticed that too couldn't quite "place" ridge hill, not right by me but close enough that i will definitely get there and am already walking the streets so probably only a couple more weeks of rest and relaxation, then back to work, i figured they were somewhat akin to cheesecake factory. definitely will be trying it out. thnks A/all

I have eaten at a Yard House in Las Vegas and LA. They bill themselves as "Classic Rock and Great Food" (or something like that) so you can expect to always hear music while you are dining. In my opinion, the food was Cheesecake factory-like, meaning that you can probably find entrees that are OK, but not really memorable. Their big attraction is that they have over 100 (or was it 200?) beers on tap, with a wide selection from all over the U.S. and the world. They even have dessert beers and "flights" of beers for you to sample. I think they rotate the beer selections with the seasons. So... if you like beer and classic rock, its worth a try.

I didn't even know about this complex until now. They will also have Whole Food, Cheesecake Factory, Elevation Burger, a Brazilian/ Texan steakhouse, Brio Tuscan Grille plus various other retails stores. All chains, but quite a bit of activity given the current economy.

Your question doesn't seem at all silly, at least not to me. I would like to believe there's room for questions and comments about all kinds of restaurants on this blog. Pixels, like opinions, are free.
Wish I could answer your question about Yard House, but have no personal experience. However, thanks to your post, I have learned of a new shopping/food spot, and for that I am grateful.
Hope your home-bounded-ness ends soon, and best wishes for future good health!
