Best Skate fish in Los Angeles

I love Skate. Especially when it's thin and crispy and moist and flavorful. I'd prefer it grilled or made any way except deep fried. Anyone have recs? Thanks!

Comme ca! Love that place, and their skate is unbelievable.

Had some at Comme Ca a few years back. Went with a couple chef friends - who ordered the skate and (he's tough) thought they did a good job with it. Pretty sure it was French style - crispy with Grenobloise.

I like the skate with browned butter and capers at the new Water Grill. It's a staple menu item.

Does anyone know a market that sells skate?

Quality Seafood at the Redondo Pier usually has it.

Il Grano has a nice rendition as a special.

ANGELINI OSTERIA. Skate may be a special, but it always seems to be on the menu when I am there.

Providence. Not sure whether it was a special.

At the new Ocean and Vine in Santa Monica I recently had an incredible skate special with jicama...

The skate Grenobloise at Brasserie Vert in the Hollywood-Highland complex is pretty tasty: sauteed crisp in browned butter and garnished with tiny croutons and bits of lemon pulp. Call first to see if it's on the menu.
