We're looking for a fun birthday dinner idea, something along the lines of Bobby McGee's in Brea (which is now closed) or something similar. Nothing too expensive, don't want to break the bank = ) Would prefer somewhere that takes reservations but not a deal breaker, for a group of 6-8. Greater Los Angeles area and east would work. Any and all suggestions are welcome. Thanks in advance!!!!

Bobby McGee's was a restaurant where all the waitstaff dressed as characters (Robin Hood, Pirate, Baseball player, etc) and acted as those characters. We really just looking for a place to have fun and where they make a big deal out of birthdays. Want to make our friend feel extra special and maybe not feel like his age (46) and more like a kid again? Ya know what I mean? = )

Do you know about Tokyo Delve's? If not it could be the answer to your dilemma...

I was just about to suggest Tokyo Delves. Awesome place to just have fun in a small intimate place.

If you want to feel like a kid again, go to Farrell's Ice Cream Parlor. I used to go to one in the Valley when I was a kid, and they now have resurrected the chain at the Shops at Mission Viejo. If you don't want burgers for dinner (they do have beer), you can go to PF Changs or Cheesecake Factory to eat then Farrell's for dessert.

When I was a kid if you ordered one of the huge ice cream concoctions, like the Zoo, they can running out in a group, a siren was blaring and they sang out some crazy song.
