Pancakes or French Toast for Dinner!

Hi everyone,

Sometimes I get in the mood to have a big platter of pancakes or french toast for dinner. There are some places that do have breakfast all day, but very few will include pancakes/french toast (sweet breakfast items) for dinner... most just have a couple egg dishes.
Any ideas where I can get pancakes or french toast for dinner? I'm okay with diner-style, as long as its clean and okay to eat in. Downtown or East GTA, if possible!
Thanks in advance!

  1. I *think* that Terry's at Bellamy and Ellesmere (same plaza as Federick's) does all-day breakfast with the full breakfast menu. And honestly, it's the type of place that would probably make them for you anyway if you asked.

I've passed Terry's tons of times on my way to Feddy's.....solid diner?

I've only ever had breakfast there, which is a solid diner breakfast. Never tried anything else!

    2. I may be wrong, but Future Bakery (bloor & Brunswick has an all day breakfast and IIRC they have french toast as well

I know this is an old thread, but after having a late breakfast at Future today, I have to say -- don't do it. Worst breakfast I've ever paid for. Dry, overcooked eggs with soggy vegetables and limp potatoes, not to mention horrible coffee. BF and I agreed we would've had better at Boom, of all places.

      2. Okay those are a couple options.. any others?? There must be more!

Mars diner at Yonge/Eg or College and Bathurst. Golden Griddle - multiple locations.

Just thought of another place -- Ontario Bistro at Dundas and Ontario. They are known for their pancakes. However, I don't actually know if they are still open, as their web site is down.

          2. Shanghai Cowgirl on Queen has french toast when open. ( till 4am on weekends).

            1. Great question - wish I had a good answer for you as I've been peeking at this thread for awhile now. Golden Griddle's crepes were so bad that I wouldn't ever recommend anything else from there - but that's to be expected. Same with Frans. Wouldn't be surprised if The Counter offered them too, but it'd be a terrible rec as well!
I've had French Toast /w Foie Gras as a dinner appetizer from Brasaii before - but wasn't a fan. Wish I had a good rec for you!

I realize that this is a downer-reply, but just my two cents just made me pop a couple of Eggos in the toaster though - my backup quick breakfast-for-dinner staple :(
