Blanking...I need a lunch place for tomorrow, ideally mid-50s, Lexington to Fifth...perhaps Mediterranean, a nice place with lighter options such as an entree salads...perhaps $25 per person without drinks. Along the lines of Fig & Olive, but something else.

TIA for any suggestions!

I have had great salads at the Monkey Bar on 54th and Park. Not sure how they are these days but they have historically fit your request.

Thanks, all, for your great suggestions. Amazing what a blind spot you can develop in a neighborhood you are in every day!

If you can go a little farther south, you might like La Fonda del Sol. There's a lunch prix fixe for $29.

Thanks, a great suggestion and not one I would have thought of. The lounge lunch menu also looks good...how is the lounge for lunch vs. the dining room?

I have only eaten lunch in the dining room. The lounge (as I've walked through) seems a little louder and livelier. Quite a scene in evening rush hour, but not bad at lunchtume.

                  Good description by Elizabeth E.

In addition, lounge has somewhat cafeteria plastic-chairs look. But tapas were very good and friendly wait-staff will make sure to check with you if you need more beers.

Dining room is more sedate with white table cloth and cushioned seats. Definitely looks more formal and with equally good service.
