Vegetarian-friendly celebratory dinner for 10?
I'm stumped on where to have a celebratory dinner next month. The guest of honor is a vegetarian, though none of the guests are -- and we're a party of 10 looking for a Saturday night reservation at a reasonable hour. Fixed menus are fine, below 34th street would be ideal, under $50/person minus alcohol.
All the usual places I would think of for a group this big offer few - if any - vegetarian options. Any thoughts? Thanks!

I am certain Hangawi on East 32d could handle your party, although prices may tick up too high. Check the menu -- and check if they have table-with-chairs seating (as opposed to floor pillows) if any of your group needs that.
Does the guest of honor enjoy Mexican food? That might be my strategy, because it is usually so budget friendly. But I would want some guarantees that service would be more focused than the typical °hi guys° approach. El Cantinero in the east village does parties in your price range, but I don't know how the food rates for that kind of gig.
