Report on Nashville

Thank you all for your suggestions. We just returned from a great weekend in Nashville - from Los Angeles, to visit our niece at Vanderbilt.. It was the first time I had been to your state and the hospitality and food went beyond my expectations. Every single meal was delicious and that's not typical when you eat out every meal for several days. Here's where we ate!

Sambuco - Nice patio, decent music and varied menu. The food was very good but not unlike meals we have in L. A.

Fido - Delicious breakfast.

Jackson's - Good breakfast but awful service even though there were two waiters for every customer. I have never seen so many waiters standing around.

Lovesick - The fried chicken was the best I have ever eaten. I loved the whole feel of the place and enjoyed my meal very much.

Monell's - This was by far our favorite meal. It was unlike any meal I have ever experienced. When I asked for a "local, Southern meal" this is exactly what I had in mind. It was like Thanksgiving in April. We enjoyed everything but the Chicken Casserole was my favorite. The staff was great and the room we dined in felt like we were in someone's home.

Thank you again. Your city has amazing food!

Yes, Loveless - sorry! Our 22 year old niece chose Sambucca.

Glad you had a good time, and good eating! Sambucca wouldn't have been my first choice, but it's nice enough.

And "Lovesick" ... do you mean "Loveless?"
