Afternoon Tea at the Ritz?

Dear All,

I am heading over to London the weekend of May 7th and would really like to experience a traditional British afternoon tea service. I looked into going to the Ritz but the traditional afternoon tea service is all booked up. Only the novelty ones for the royal wedding and easter are available.

Does anyone have any recommendations?

Many Thanks!

Fortnum & Mason, Brown's, or the Savoy. Hope that helps.

That does help! I called the Savoy but they are fully booked. They put me on a waiting list. I looked it up on their website and it looks fantastic. I will read up on the other 2 that you mentioned.

I can recommend the afternoon tea at the Goring Hotel.

However, as it's the hotel where Kate Middleton will stay the night before her wedding, they may well be booked solid now with all the media attention they're likely to have got out of that!

Thanks Scooby! I would avoid the drama for the time being. I travel to London quite a bit so I will keep this one on the docket for next time.

Fortnum and Mason. On Picadilly. It's a great tea in a lovely old fashioned store, which itself is worth a trip. I took a very last minute trip to London a few years ago and tea there was no problem.
