Downtown Delivery
I'm a New Yorker (West Village / Chelsea) temporarily relocated to downtown Los Angeles. I plan to be out and about quite a bit but certainly will need dinner delivery now and again. Who's got recommendations? Sushi is key. Thai or other SEA would be nice. A good big salad. Something local/organic. Perhaps a bit of Mexican. Open to all -- good food that need not be fancy. No vile fast food or national chains please. Give me the info, left-coasters!!

I used to live downtown. Sadly, the delivery options leave much to be desired. You might check out LABite.com -- a pay delivery service. Of the restaurants here -- http://www.labite.com/food-delivery-9... -- my favorites would be Border Grill and Bar B Kosher. Not a lot of great options on there. You might also check out Mediterranean City Grill. I've had decent food there, and I know they deliver downtown.
There are tons of nice places to dine solo downtown, including several good sushi bars and izakayas in Little Tokyo.

re: skigirl
Sushi Gen is probably the gold standard for sushi in Little Tokyo. Sushi Go 55, Hama, and R23 are also good bets. There are other good sushi places in LIttle Tokyo; this list is non-exhaustive. I haven't eaten at the izakayas enough to provide a heartfelt recommendation, but I've had a few nice solo meals at Izayoi.
