Ever Seen Ramps This Far South?

LiveRock Apr 25, 2011 05:54 PM

Never tasted a ramp and would love to try them. Anybody ever seen them at a South Florida market?

I only heard of them 4 weeks ago and haven't seen them yet. I'd love to try them too, but I have no idea what to do with them.

Have not seen them around here. If you are truly obsessed you can get some mail order!

Thanks Charlie...I think I'd like to order everything on that page! I wouldn't really call it an obsession though, more of an intrigue. It's probably the fact that they are just out of reach that makes me so interested.

We get them in NC, but I've never seen them here. Delicious just sauteed with mushrooms and green garlic in EVOO and tossed into pasta with grated parmesan.

There was a special at Sustain a week or so ago, "lamb belly" that was served over a bed of ramps. Not sure where they're getting them from but hopefully they'll appear on the menu when they're available.
