Raventós Cava -- Anyone Tried It?

This weekend's Wall Street Journal has the sommelier from Le Bernardin in New York City recommending a Cava from Raventós as a budget priced alternative for Chanpagne, to be served with Camenbert.

Wine Exchange in Orange County (which I find to be reliable) is raving about the 2007 Cava from Raventós , selling for $15.99. http://www.winex.com/wine-262113-.aspx For that price, I'm thinking I should pick up some bottles.

Any thoughts?

    Thought No. 2: It is a very good price.

    IMHO, it's one of the Cavas I've tried.

    1. I've tasted the Raventos & yes...would recommend it. Great QPR, & has made it's way to several high vis wine lists. Aldo Sohm is not alone in liking it.

      1. I ordered a few and will report back.

        Hope it is better than my last budget attempt at bubbly -- Sorelle Bronca Prosecco Extra Dry NV for $14.99, which I didn't enjoy at all, even at that price.

        1. In January I served my wine group the 07 de Nit, 07 Reserva & 05 Gran Reserva de la Finca as an aperitif before we sat down to the evening's tasting. A study in contrasts, each wonderful. Outstanding group of Cavas.
