Lunch Near Vinci

Will be driving to Florence from Genova and was interested in stopping in Vinci, which looks to be halfway between Lucca and Florence, to see the town, the museum, etc. Anyone know of any good lunch places in the vicinity? Thanks.

Unfortunately, there aren't a ton of options in Vinci. Avoid anything in the main piazza in the lower part of town, there is a pizzeria that takes forever to serve you.

Up the hill there is both Ristorante Leonardo and La Torretta near the museum. Neither is exceptional, both are OK. La Torretta has a lot of salumi and prosciutto options as an appetizer, if you like that. Ristorante Leonardo is a dark family run place, some decent pastas.

I agree with Bugsey--I've eaten at the 3 places mentioned and would recommend eating light at La Torretta (salumi and prosciutto) and saving space for a larger dinner elsewhere.

      PS
There aren't many options around Vinci either--snack and go.
